Zidovudine & Lamivudine 300 mg/150 mg

Zidovudine and lamivudine are antiretroviral medications used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

They are commonly used together in combination therapy for the treatment of HIV infection. This combination is often part of a highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimen, which typically includes multiple antiretroviral medications to effectively suppress the replication of the HIV virus and improve the immune function of patients with HIV/AIDS.

Zidovudine, also known as AZT (azidothymidine), belongs to a class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). It works by inhibiting the action of the enzyme reverse transcriptase, which is necessary for the HIV virus to replicate.

Lamivudine belongs to the same class of drugs as zidovudine (NRTIs). It also works by inhibiting the action of the reverse transcriptase enzyme.

The combination of zidovudine and lamivudine is often used as a first-line treatment for HIV infection, either alone or in combination with other antiretroviral medications.
